Child safety standards
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Wema has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, and any content that sexualizes minors.
Our standards
- Wema is only for people 13 and older. Users under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission.
- Any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor is banned. We remove it, permanently ban the account, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement as required by law.
- Only friends can send each other kindness messages, and there is no open chat between strangers.
- Faces of people who weren't tagged are blurred in photos, and cards never ask anyone to photograph or contact children they don't know.
How to report
- In the app: tap the menu on any post, message or profile and choose Report.
- By email: support@getwema.com with the subject "Child safety report."
- We review child safety reports first and act within 24 hours.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number). You can also report directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org.
